The new board brings tremendous energy and inspiration to our organization, and we look forward to another great year of charitable and educational activities.”
The AEF Board consists of nine directors who are appointed each June to serve two-year terms. The newly appointed directors will serve until June 2020, along with five directors, Minsuk Han, Enoch Chang, Tracey Fung, Amrita Singh, and David Yin, who will serve until June 2019.
AEF will accept applications to join the 2019-2020 Board of Directors in May 2019. “This year, we received applications from numerous highly qualified attorneys motivated to give back to the community,” said Minsuk Han. “We are encouraged by the response, and we thank everyone who applied. This level of engagement and commitment to our mission will ensure the success of AEF for years to come.”
Since 1993, AEF has awarded nearly $300,000 in fellowships and grants to support law students whose work benefits the Asian Pacific American (APA) community or the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area at large. AEF’s educational programs throughout the year are aimed at bringing together APA attorneys and law students in the area and promoting diversity in legal profession. “We are very thankful to each of our donors, sponsors, and participating attorneys who have given their time and money to further our mission,” commented Minsuk Han. “Their generosity and support of AEF made the last 25 years a success, and we look forward to the next 25 years of giving and more.”
AEF is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization established by the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) of the Greater Washington, D.C. Area in 1993 to engage exclusively in charitable and educational activities.
