Adrian is an antitrust associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. During law school, Adrian served as President of NAPALSA and President of GW APALSA. He also served as a Student Liaison for AEF and a law clerk for NAPABA.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Adrian worked prior to law school as a paralegal at Credit Karma and Gunderson Dettmer.

Jessica is a judicial law clerk at the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. She will be clerking at the Appellate Court of Maryland and the Supreme Court of Maryland thereafter. 

She earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law and B.A. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During law school, Jessica served as the Director of Public Relations of NAPALSA, Vice President of UBalt's APALSA, and an AEF Student Liaison. Jessica also served as President of UBalt's Board of Advocates and an Articles Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Forum.

Haroon is an experienced litigator and an Assistant Director at the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division, where he defends the United States in high stakes, mass tort and toxic tort litigation. Prior to his current position, he spent nearly a decade at an AmLaw 100 firm representing defendants in high stakes, mass tort and products liability litigation. Haroon obtained his B.A. in Economics & History, J.D., and M.S in Accounting from Indiana University in Bloomington. He is President of the DC Chapter of the IU Alumni Association and of the IU Asian Pacific Islander Alumni Association.  He is also a member of APABA-DC and SABA-DC.

Thomas is an associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP and a member of the
firm’s Government Contracts and Public Procurement group.  His
practice covers a broad range of government contracts matters,
including bid protests, claims, transactions, and investigations.  He
is a former judicial law clerk to the Honorable Thompson M. Dietz
(United States Court of Federal Claims).  He received his J.D. from
The George Washington University Law School, where he received his
concentration in government contracts.  Prior to law school, he worked
for a government contractor, and he received his M.A. from Georgetown
University and B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Alan is a litigation associate at Paul Hastings LLP in Washington, D.C., where his practice spans complex litigation, government investigations, white-collar defense, and regulatory counseling. He represents individuals, corporations, and financial institutions in a range of high-stakes matters, including civil litigation, commercial disputes, national security matters, and regulatory compliance challenges across state and federal forums.

Alan earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as executive editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and his B.A. from Loyola University Chicago. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Emily is a food regulatory associate at Keller & Heckman LLP.  She received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and her B.S. Food Science from Purdue University.  While in law school, Emily served as a federal intern at the USDA and a judicial intern to the Honorable Vickie L. Henry at the Massachusetts Appeals Court.  During this time, she also served as Director of Professional Development for NAPALSA, Vice President for Suffolk Law APALSA, and Diversity Law Fellow for Suffolk Law.  Prior to law school, Emily worked as a Food Chemist at Cargill in Blair, Nebraska.

Jill is the very first Mental Health and Mitigation Attorney for the Arlington County Public Defender’s Office. In this pioneering role, she focuses on cases involving serious mental illness, diversion, alternatives to incarceration, competency, and restoration. A lifelong social worker, Jill is grateful for the opportunity to integrate both her legal and social work backgrounds in service of her clients.

She earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she was a Public Interest Scholar and graduated with a concentration in Family Law. During her time there, she received the Equal Justice Works Regional Public Interest Award for the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Jill also holds a Master’s degree in Social Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University.

Jason earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S. in Economics from Duke University.  Upon graduation he joined O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he is currently a Counsel in the Antitrust and Healthcare practice groups.  Jason is a well-rounded litigator and trusted advisor with extensive experience guiding clients through complex and cutting-edge issues relating to competition, healthcare, and artificial intelligence. He has a wide range of experience across varying industries, with a focus on counseling healthcare payors and airlines.  Jason is a first-generation attorney and an active member of APABA-DC.

Marissa is a tax attorney at Foley & Lardner LLP. She previously served as a law clerk at the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance and the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division. She also worked as a judicial intern at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Marissa earned her LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center, J.D. from University of Minnesota Law School, and B.A. from Wellesley College.

Nathan J. Bu is a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division, where he defends the United States in toxic tort litigation. He is a former law clerk to the Honorable Mary Beck Briscoe (United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit) and to the Honorable Robin M. Meriweather (United States District Court for the District of Columbia). He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. Prior to law school, he taught eighth grade English in Las Vegas, Nevada through Teach for America. 

Mark is an international trade associate at WilmerHale LLP, where he focuses on advising clients on trade policy, international agreements, trade controls, and antidumping and countervailing duty litigation.  While in law school, he was an active member of APALSA and worked as a legal extern at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and civil litigation extern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY).  Mark earned his JD from New York University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from University of Pennsylvania.

Yusuf is clerking for the Honorable Angela M. Eaves at the Supreme Court of Maryland. Previously, he clerked for the Honorable John M. Maloney at the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. Yusuf has overseen 25 jury trials from voir dire to verdict. He holds a J.D. from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Nebraska. During law school, Yusuf served as President of CUA Law SBA, Treasurer of CUA Law APALSA and received both the Columbus Award and the Vincent Miraglia Award.

Roozbeh Gorgin is Senior Intellectual Property Counsel at FIS, where he manages complex legal matters to protect FIS’ intellectual property assets, with an expanded leadership focus on patent strategy, patent portfolio development, and the rapidly evolving domain of AI law and governance. 

In addition to his legal practice, Roozbeh has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional mentorship and service within the legal community. He previously served on the board of the Iranian American Bar Association’s DC Chapter, including as Vice President and Events Chair, where he helped lead strategic initiatives, organize educational and community-focused programming, and mentor law students through the organization’s mentorship efforts. 

He has also worked with the broader affinity bar community in Washington, D.C., including helping organize collaborative programming and moderating panels at AEF’s annual Wone Conference. 

Before entering the legal profession, Roozbeh worked as an engineer, an experience that continues to inform his practical, interdisciplinary approach to advising innovators and engaging with the next generation of attorneys. 

Roozbeh earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. As a member of the AEF board, he is honored to support AEF’s mission of expanding mentorship, educational programming, and opportunities for law students in the Greater Washington, D.C. area.

Benjamin R. Reyes concentrates his practice on a wide range of general litigation and complex matters including White Collar Defense and Investigations, Insurance Recovery, IP Litigation, Securities Litigation, Government Contracts, and general Commercial Litigation.

Benjamin previously served as a summer associate at Blank Rome. Prior to joining the firm, Benjamin served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Judge Timothy J. Kelly at the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia and a student law clerk for the United States Agency for International Development, Office of the Inspector General in their Office of the General Counsel. And before he pursued his legal career, Benjamin served in the federal government as a senior policy and planning analyst at the agency and department level of the Department of Homeland Security where he worked in strategic planning and formulated multi-year appropriations for information technology initiatives.

During law school, Benjamin served as a student attorney for the AU WCL Defense Clinic, a note and comment editor for the American University Law Review, and a research assistant in the areas of criminal defense. He was member of AU WCL’s nationally-ranked mock trial team where he competed in multiple competitions throughout the country and was awarded with the AU WCL Professor Anthony Morella Professionalism Award in Trial Advocacy.
